Carved Lanterns

One of our easier to carve pumpkin templates, The witch in the moon is a silhouette of a witch face. It can be looked at one of two ways. Either the witches head is setting upon a sliver of the moon, or it could be seen as a shadow of the witch projecting darkness onto a full moon. Either way the younger kids will have fun with this one, since its not very difficult to cut out and still have it turn out well.

Probably one of the simplest Pumpkin carving patterns we've managed to come up with, the man in the moon is a great design for young children to try. Its a very basic design so we reccomend only using it on smaller pumpkins. It will work on bigger ones, but since there isn't much fine detail it may turn out looking kind of simple if you make it too big. For an added personal touch, try rotating the stencil on the pumpkin. You can tilt it quite a ways in either direction before it becomes difficult to tell what the carving is.
