Carved Lanterns

Side by side cats is a picture of two cats setting next to each other in the moonlight. It would seem like they are in love except they have a sort of creepy look to them. This design should be easy for anyone with moderate skill and a steady hand. The only part you need to watch out for is the thin necks. We reccomend cutting the face details before you cut the neck so you don't break the heads off trying to carve the eyes after the neck is already defined.

For this stencil we sketched two cats setting outside a window waiting for their chance to get in. This pattern is a bit more complicated than the one above. You will want to have a medium to large sized pumpkin for this design. There is a little bit of fine detail like the spiderweb in the upper right window. On a smaller pumpkin the spiderweb detail probably won't turn out right. You can leave out the spiderweb and the rest of the design will turn out ok.
